The Tour 2008
Running from Saturday July 5th to Sunday July 27th 2008, the 95th Tour de France will be made up of 21 stages and will cover a total distance of 3,500 kilometres.
Stage 8 - Figeac Toulouse 174 km -> Saturday 12 July
Mark Cavendish rode the perfect sprint to win the stage by five bike lengths. The Columbia team has now won two stages and they keep the lead in the general, points and youth classification!
Stage 9 - Toulouse Bagnères-de-Bigorre 222 km -> Sunday 13 July
There has been a slight reshuffle in the top order of the general classification but not as much as we can expect tomorrow. Still, it is a day of celebration for Riccardo Ricco who has won his second Tour de France stage in four days.
Stage 10 - Pau Hautacam 154 km -> Monday 14 July
With his eighth place in the stage, Cadel Evans has pushed his way into the lead of the Tour de France. He has an advantage of one second over Frank Schleck.
Stage 11 - Lannemezan Foix 166 km -> Wednesday 16 July
The sprint for 13th place was won by another Norwegian; Thor Hushovd led the peloton across the line, 14’50" behind Kurt Asle Arvesen.
Stage 12 - Lavelanet Narbonne 168 km -> Thursday 17 July
Mark Cavendish is living up to his self-confessed claim as being "the fastest rider in the world". He’s won three stages so far in the 2008 Tour.
