Le Montagnou is a small, friendly, English, family run campsite in the beautiful Ustou valley, 10 minutes from the small town of Seix. The campsite is nestled among the lush lower slopes of the Pyrenees. The site is bordered by the river Alet which is ideal for kayaking in the spring and swimming and trout fishing in the summer. The tranquility of Le Montagnou is only broken by the calls of the eagles, which soar high above.The area offers a huge range of excellent activities; walking, mountain biking, geocaching, nature trails, fishing, horse riding, culture, caves, underground rivers, thermal springs and spa during the summer.Whilst in the winter the family friendly ski resort of Guzet Neige is 15 minutes away. The resort offers 40km of pistes for all ages and levels, including 2km of cross country ski trails. There is also a snowshoe circuit for those wanting to try something a little different.

How to get to us

By Road: From St Giron follow signs for Guzet; take first right at roundabout (Guzet), second right at next roundabout (Guzet,Seix) and second right at third roundabout to Seix. Go through Seix (keep the river on your right) and at Pont de la Taule turn left towards Trein d'Ustou. The campsite is on the left just before you enter the village. The route is easily accessible with either a caravan or motorhome.By Rail: Gare SNCF de Boussens (Tél. 05 61 66 01 13) and then the and then the bus to St Giron.By Air: Ryan Air offer direct flights from the UK into Tarbes (1.30hrs) and Carcassonne (2.30hrs) all year. Whilst BMI Baby fly directly from the UK into Toulouse-Blagnac (1.30hrs)

There is a excellent range of things to do for all ages in the area, a small selection is provided below:- Tennis in the village - 3km Saint Lizier d'Ustou there is a municiple pool with lifeguard- 10km is the small village of Seix which has a supermarket, bakers, butchers, other small shops and a cinema- 12km at the Ski station of Guzet there is a heated municiple pool- Trout fishing- Walking (see list below for a small selection of walks around the area)- Mountain biking- Adventure sports- Horse riding- Thermal springs and spa- Nature, culture and heritage- A wonderful market in St Giron (30km) on Saturday mornings- 5km away from the campsite there is rafting and kayaking, if you have your own canoe you can launch from the campsiteSki Station at Guzet (altitude 1100 to 2100 m) 42 km of pistes, 33 slopes, 14 ski lifts, 106 snow cannons, 2km of cross country skiing, snowshoe walk and snowboarding.
