Region
The name can be etymologically traced to « Condatómagus », evocative of a Gallic market place at the confluence of the Baïse and the Gèle. Ancient Episcopal town, which prospered due to the trade in Armagnac wine on the Baïse river. Today, Condom is also a sub-prefecture.
